Track Of The Day: Spencer - Hidden From The Sun

Fresh from hitting the Top 40 album charts in their native Switzerland & being playlisted on the hugely influential KROQ Radio in the USA, alt-rockers Spencer have unveiled a new single from their fourth album We Built This Mountain Just To See The Sunrise. Hidden From The Sun is an anthemic slice of pounding indie rock showcasing soaring guitars, brooding vocals & stadium dynamics.

Spencer are an established force in Europe & have built a loyal fanbase in Switzerland & Germany where their impressive live show has led to multiple awards. Their videos have been in rotation on MTV/Viva & the band have picked up press acclaim from tastemakers at Rolling Stone & Rckstr Magazine.

For their new album (released in late May), the band enlisted Reto Peter (Green Day, Counting Crows) to add a widescreen polish to their best set of songs yet. With Leo Niessner’s baritone vocals & distorted guitars, Pashi’s driving bass & JP Free’s powerful rhythms already forging a distinctive sound on their previous records, the atmospheric keyboards of newest member Reto Eggenberger add a 21st Century sheen to their 90’s indebted riffs & choruses. The results are a thumping set of energetic rock songs perfect for radio playlists & festival singalongs.

Spencer will be playing shows in support of the single and album this summer
