TRACK OF THE DAY: Podge – Yuka – Peno

Podge

A bright, colourful offering with a sunny, dreamlike outlook brought to life by the laptop and synthesizer of newcomer Podge.

Influenced by manga series Nichijou and Japanese musical genius Cornelius, the man who came to be known as Podge began recording in his bedroom at the age of 15. The results of these bedroom sessions can be found on his self-released debut album ‘The Hero Appears’.

Podge describes his somewhat whimsical sound as “joyful, catchy, glitchy and uplifting” and ‘Yuko – Peno’ is a prime example. Recorded at Liverpool’s Parr Street Studios, the track has been championed by the likes of legendary DJ Janice Long and is released on May 3rd via The Label Recordings. Podge will be making his festival debut at Liverpool Sound City a couple of days later on May 5th.
