TRACK OF THE DAY: OF MONSTERS AND MEN – ‘Empire’

Of Monsters and Men are pleased to announce details of a new single. ‘Empire’ is available from today, impacting on the 15th June, following the release of the Icelandic band’s second album, ‘Beneath the Skin’, which is out on the 8th June through Island Records. The track was featured as Annie Mac’s Hottest Record on Radio 1 earlier this week.

‘Beneath The Skin’ was co-produced by the band and Rich Costey (Muse, Death Cab For Cutie, Foster The People), between studios in Iceland and Los Angeles. The album features eleven new tracks, with a bonus edition featuring remixes by Grizzly Bear’s Chris Taylor and Jonsi (Sigur Ros) collaborator, Alex Somers.

‘Beneath The Skin’ follows the 2011 release of the band’s debut album, ‘My Head Is An Animal’, which has now sold in excess of two million copies worldwide. The record spawned a number of hit singles including ‘Little Talks’ which has received over 140 million views to date on YouTube.

Of Monsters and Men will play a one-off UK date at London’s The Forum on 16th July, which sold-out in under two hours. They will return in November for a full headline tour, including a night at 02 Brixton Academy on 24th November.
