TRACK OF THE DAY: MAN & THE ECHO - 'All Right'

‘All Right’ is a tale of kidnap, set in a fascist rural village. As lead singer Gaz puts it: “Stranded and lost deep in the Cheshire countryside, I sought refuge in what seemed like a pleasant country pub. However, once inside I was perturbed by the taxidermy, the bunting, and the notice board full of far right propaganda. I made to leave, but outside I was knocked out and captured by weekending Stockbrokers. I awoke to find that the EU had successfully bartered for my release in return for a new Waitrose.”

Man & The Echo’s debut single ‘Honeysucker’ was released around the time of the general election. The song caught the attention of protest rock icon Billy Bragg, who invited them to play the Leftfield stage at this year’s Glastonbury Festival. Before Glastonbury the band will also play the This Feeling stage at the Isle of Wight festival.

‘All Right’ will also be released as a AA-side 7” single with ‘Honeysucker’ on Friday 7th of August through 1965 Records. Both songs were recorded at Paul Weller’s Black Barn studios with Jan “Stan” Kybert earlier this year.

Man & The Echo are Gaz Roberts, Joe Forshaw, Joey Bennett and Chris Gallagher.
