Track of the Day: Ilana J - Made 4 U

Originally from the UK, up and coming singer-songwriter Ilana J is taking the music scene by storm with her relentless passion for songwriting and a natural musical talent to match. An accomplished pianist and guitarist, Ilana has a writing style which is very much her own and the rate at which she is writing songs and laying down tracks is impressive for a relatively newcomer to the music scene.

Ilana J excelled in classical piano at a young age, but her dream of a future in the music industry was shelved for a more traditional education and career path; that is until a long, hot summer a few years ago in Maine, when she found the inspiration she needed to open her heart again to music.

An accomplished pianist and guitarist, Ilana has a writing style which is very much her own and the rate at which she is writing songs and laying down tracks is impressive for a relatively newcomer to the music scene.

Ilana dived in with intensive musical training on both the guitar and the piano, and almost immediately began writing songs, as if the lyrics and music had just been waiting to be heard. After eighteen months of hard work, supported every step of the way by her friends and family, a chance meeting in 2013 with Mark Alexander, ex-keyboard player with rock band Meat Loaf, gave her the final push she needed to follow her dream – it was time to start recording her songs.

Ilana’s debut EP ‘Free Falling from the Ground Up’ was released in 2015 with popular approval from music fans and industry professionals alike. New single ‘Made 4 U’ follows the success of her last single release ‘Not Alone’ which came out in February, inviting us to let go of the illusion of isolation and celebrate a world of unity through diversity.
