THE SLOW READERS CLUB - Re-schedule BELFAST show for Feb 2020

THE SLOW READERS CLUB have re-scheduled their Irish Tour Dates for February 2020. The dates originally scheduled to take place this Autumn were unfortunately postponed following bassist James Ryan undergoing emergency surgery to his hand. Today, the band confirmed the rescheduling of the dates for the following fixtures next year:

THE SLOW READERS CLUB – FEBRUARY 2020

3 – BELFAST Empire Music Hall

5 – DUBLIN Button Factory

6 – CORK Cyprus Avenue

7 – LIMERICK Dolans

*Original tickets remain valid for the new dates, refunds are also available from point of purchase for those that require.

The shows follow the recent release of the band’s new live album: ‘Live At O2 Apollo Manchester’. Out now via the Modern Sky UK label, the two-disc double album and DVD documents the Mancunian band’s greatest live gig to date in its full glory; a 3500 capacity hometown show at one of the city’s greatest live spaces.

Recorded in December 2018, the show was hailed by the Manchester Evening News as “a dream come true” (4/5) and by Louder Than War Magazine as a “career busting best at one of the city’s top venues”; listeners will now be able to relive the bands towering triumph track-by-track with the release of this essential new live album.

With selections from all three of the Readers’ studio albums to date, the 20 song set also features a raft of notable highlights from the band’s UK Top 20 charting LP: ‘Build A Tower’ of 2018.

Reflecting on what was a momentous gig for the band and what it means to have it released as a live album in 2019, frontman Aaron Starkie says:

“As a Manchester band it was always a dream to play the Apollo, a target we aimed for as we worked our way up through the city’s venues. To look out on all those people felt incredible, like a hard won celebration of our journey together.  We’re really pleased to be able to share that evening with people now. Not only the three and a half thousand that leant their voices to the recording, but all the new people that have yet to discover our music. We hope everyone enjoys this document of our biggest gig so far.”

The album is out now, available as a double CD & DVD package, or double splattered vinyl & DVD, as well as digitally. The band are currently also working on material for the follow-up to 2018’s UK Album Chart Top 20 album “Build A Tower.
