THE SLOW READERS CLUB announce 'For All Here To Observe' Acoustic EP

Manchester four-piece The Slow Readers Club has announced the release of a new acoustic EP, For All Here To Observe, out September 14th via Modern Sky. The EP will feature tracks spanning their entire career, from their eponymous self-titled debut album to this year’s Build A Tower, recorded as stripped back acoustic versions and produced and mixed by Phil Bulleyment (Beady Eye, Dutch Uncles).

Opening with their most recent single ‘Supernatural’, the EP sheds an emotive reinterpretation on tracks including ‘I Saw A Ghost’ and ‘Forever In Your Debt’, taken from 2015’s Cavalcade, and ‘Block Out The Sun’, taken from their 2011 debut, as well as ‘On The TV’ and ‘Lunatic’ from Build A Tower.

The band said of the EP, “We got a lot out of the acoustic recordings – it’s great to hear the songs stripped back to their bare bones, it’s also a good opportunity to try different things vocally and change the mood of the tracks”.

The EP will be released ahead of their upcoming winter tour, which will see the band play the biggest dates of their career so far, including London’s Scala and a hometown show at Manchester’s O2 Apollo. The band have also been announced to perform at Lincoln’s 2Q Festival in November, where they play The Engine Shed with Public Service Broadcasting. Speaking on their upcoming headline slot, the band said “Head for the Hills played a big part in building our audience and helping us reach new people, so its nice to return for our first festival headline show and first time on the Head To The Hills main stage”.

The band are touring in support of their new album Build A Tower, which was released in May this year and went straight into the Official UK album chart top 20 at number 18, 10 in the physical album chart, 4 in the vinyl chart, 4 in the indie album chart and number 1 in the cassette chart.

The Slow Readers Club toured the UK extensively in support of the release earlier this year, which saw them sell out shows across the country including the 2,000 capacity Manchester Cathedral, within just hours of tickets going on sale, and London’s Islington Assembly Hall.

Now the band are hitting the road once again to play the most defining shows of their career yet, and with a new single to follow soon, The Slow Readers Club continue their unstoppable trajectory throughout 2018. The Slow Readers Club’s full tour dates can be found below:
