STRANGE COLLECTIVE Announce ‘Super Touchy’ EP - Listen to 'Heavy'

Liverpool quartet, Strange Collective, are pleased to announce they will release their debut EP ‘Super Touchy’ via Salvation Records on 1st July 2016. To celebrate the news they’re streaming brand new single ‘Heavy’ in full ahead of its release on 22nd April.

A freewheeling ball of guitars, drums and howled vocals careening along with no predetermined endpoint, Strange Collective seem to effortlessly gain momentum whilst simultaneously threatening to spiral out of control. New single ‘Heavy’ is a good indication of what a typical musical journey with the band feels like; a dangerous and intoxicating slab of sonic chaos, made all the more thrilling for its spontaneity.

Specialising in psyched-up garage jams that feel like they’ve been frazzled in the San Fran sun, this shady Liverpool quartet are a fearsome package that has so far only existed in the form of their incendiary live shows with performances at Liverpool Psych Fest, Liverpool Music Week and Sound City Festival plus shows with Ghost of the Sabre Tooth Tiger, Black Lips, King Khan and The Shrines and The Warlocks to name a few.

Listen to ‘Heavy’ BELOW:

The new recordings represent a tamed version of the band’s explosive live energy, a controlled menace that struts and stalks through the shadows like a Black Lips record played simultaneously at half speed and in overdrive. Flashes of Thee Oh Sees’ strained intensity are evident in the squalls of yelps and distortion, which is underpinned by a relentless rhythm section.

Strange Collective have barely even flexed their muscles so far, but what they have done is show the rippling power that’s latent in their swagger.
