Following the success of their reunion gig at Belfast venue Voodoo in June, Silent Running has announced details of a follow-up gig at the same venue on Friday, November 15, 2019, and the release of their first new material in 30 years.
“The gig in June was an amazing buzz for all of us – the reaction from the audience was overwhelming and it gave us a real taste for more”, explained lead singer and principal songwriter Peter Gamble. “It was great to see so many familiar faces in Voodoo but also so many young people who probably weren’t even born when we were making records and touring the first time round”.
The setlist at Voodoo in June included one brand new song ‘Lost Boy’, and the reaction prompted the band to go into the recording studio.
“We never got around to recording a fourth album, that was always the dream and it still is. Since the gig we’ve been working on several new songs which we’re excited about so who knows? We will definitely be including at least two of those songs at our next Voodoo gig” says Gamble.
‘Lost Boy’ will be released as a digital download on Friday, October 25th.
“We’re really proud of it. Lost Boy is about so many things that we hope people can relate to. We’ve all been through the mill but deep down we’re all still just kids at heart, trying to find our way in an increasingly weird and complex world. What’s up is down and down is up these days”.
