Seattle rock ‘n’ roll fourpiece THUNDERPUSSY'S self-titled debut album set for release May 25th

Seattle rock ‘n’ roll fourpiece Thunderpussy’s highly-anticipated, self-titled debut album is set for release on May 25th via Virgin EMI/ Republic Records. Today they unveil their new single ‘Thunderpussy’ from the album – listen here. See the full Thunderpussy tracklist below].

On their new track, Thunderpussy says, “Every band should have a theme song, especially if your band is called ‘Thunderpussy.’ We knew from the moment the band got together that this was our big chance to do what we had always wanted since the first time we heard “Bad Company” by Bad Company: write a self-titled track. The lyrics are playful and tongue-in-cheek, with slashing guitars and crunching bass, building to a dramatic crescendo. You can hear an actual smashing explosion at the climax—that’s a television meeting pavement at high velocity. ‘Coming for ya…On the prowl…RAWR! Thunderpussy!!!’”

Thunderpussy follows the band’s Greatest Tits EP released earlier this year, which features their breakout tracks, “Speed Queen,” “Velvet Noose” and “Torpedo Love.”

What if Thor’s Hammer of the Gods from “Immigrant Song” landed in the hands of four wise, willful, and wild women? Well, it would sound something like Thunderpussy. The quartet—Molly Sides [vocals], Whitney Petty [guitar], Leah Julius [bass] and Ruby Dunphy [drums]—do the most rock ‘n’ roll thing possible and quite literally fuck up every rock ‘n’ roll stereotype you know to be true, piercing the halls of Valhalla in the process. The Seattle-based group turned into a quiet phenomenon with the endorsement of Rolling Stone and Pearl Jam guitarist Mike McCready, as well as a string of already legendary performances under their high-waisted belts.
