Rising star CAITLYN SCARLETT unveils stunning new video for ‘Happy When’

Rising star Caitlyn Scarlett, described by The Line of Best Fit as ‘being on the verge of something big’, pre-empts the release of her forthcoming EP ‘Red Tape, Vol. 2’ due 2018 with details of a brand new hauntingly emotive track ‘Happy When’ (produced by Fred Cox – Rag N Bone Man, Anne-Marie, Raye) available this October.

Caitlyn details the video: “The visual for ‘Happy When’ was something I wanted do get right but also keep subtle, because the song is written with a vague sarcasm to it and it’s true nature is to poke holes in some really unhealthy attitudes our society has towards romance. In the video we see someone (me lol) who is remaining alone by choice, wary of the downsides to relationships and also more comfortable doing their own thing. We also blew up a bunch of roses which was pretty neat, I was lucky to keep my eyebrows thanks to those yellow glasses.”

Following the acclaim of her previous EP ‘Red Tape, Vol 1’ earlier this year, Caitlyn garnered support from the likes of Clash, Wonderland, The 405, Huw Stephens, Radio X and BBC Introducing. Having already amassed over 6 million streams on Spotify, the young singer-songwriter finds herself collaborating with producers and artists such as MNEK, Shakka, DJ Dahi (Drake, Kendrick Lamar, Big Sean), MelO x (Beyoncé) and Levi Lennox – (M.I.A, Krept & Konan, Zayn Malik).

‘Happy When’ is a continuation of a career full of promise. Born and raised in a small village called Bray, Caitlyn started writing her own songs at the age of nine. A self-taught guitarist and pianist raised in a musical household, she left home at seventeen for the bright lights of London, a move that looks to have paid off in spades as Caitlyn becomes one of the UK’s hotly anticipated acts for 2018.
