RAZORLIGHT have unveiled the video for their brand new single ‘Cops And Robbers’

RAZORLIGHT announce new single, ‘Cops And Robbers' released on the 26th July 1

Razorlight has unveiled the video for their brand new single ‘Cops And Robbers,’ that coincides with the band’s summer festival dates.

The single finds the newly energised band at their melodic, playful, and characterful best, with the video, filmed in New York, finding Johnny being chased around the city by new live band member Reni Lane, in a clip that harks back to classic, retro 80s films.

Director Remy Holwick says of the visuals: “This video was the best kind of collaborative effort between Johnny, Reni Lane, and myself — a total joy. We wanted to do something fun, cinematic, and retro, nodding to ‘A Hard Day’s Night’ along with lots of 80s references. We opted for VHS which feels refreshing and very playful in a landscape of very polished, effects heavy digital work.”

Speaking of the new single, frontman Johnny Borrell says: “The video came together really quickly, there’s this great director Remy Holwick, who’s done a load of videos for various New York groups, we ended up hitting about eight locations around New York in one day and we managed to pull in big Rob from Florence And The Machine, who plays a big role in Razorlight history. It was about the second time we’d managed to catch up in a decade and he delivered a stellar performance as God on Earth posing as a flower seller.”
