PREMIERE: Ivan & The Parazol traverse themes of flirtation and relationships on glam-psych number ‘Is That’ - Listen Now

Today XS Noize is pleased to premiere ‘Is That’ from Budapestian rockers Ivan & The Parazol from their fourth album ‘Exotic Post Traumatic’ out March 22 on Butler Records.

“‘Is That’ seems very simple, but if you take a closer look it’s more complicated. Love also seems so easy to describe, but most of the time we realize that we don’t really know why we love that person so much. Is that the style? Is that the scent? Or what’s the spell? Also, this song symbolizes how our music can go together well with a modern touch. The chorus sounds really 21st century.”

‘Is That’ is released alongside their fourth full-length which is produced by Grammy-award winning Wil Anspach (Muse, Red Hot Chili Peppers) 5 tracks fulfil the theme of ‘Exotic’ and 5 of ‘Post-Traumatic’.

Listen to ‘Is That’ – BELOW:

About ‘Exotic Post Traumatic’:  “There’s always two sides to a record; physically at least. We intended for the new album to have two sides in spirit also – one which sonically embodies “exoticness” and the other “post-traumatism” – five tracks for each theme, hence “Exotic Post-Traumatic”. It’s not a must to decide which side you belong to because the world isn’t that black and white, but we went through our fair share of trauma when our bass player was suddenly struck with illness following the release of our previous album.

“Seeing a friend and band-member suffering made it a very challenging time for us all. The period inspired a lot of songs, mainly about change, living, and of course death.

“Working with our producer Wil Anspach helped us reinvent the sound of the band and “Exotic Post-Traumatic” is an ode to our realisation of how easily you can lose everything, and how hard it can be getting back on your feet and trying again after such a heavy blow. It’s about the struggle, it’s about the fight.”
