In the wake of a raucous sold out headline show at Village Underground in London earlier this week, and a triumphant performance at the BBC Radio 6 Music Festival, POLIÇA have announced a full European tour for October / November 2016. The UK leg features the band’s biggest UK headline show to date at The Roundhouse, London on 19th October. This is sandwiched between concerts in Leeds, Glasgow, Bristol, Birmingham, Manchester and Brighton.
Tickets will be on sale from 26th February at 9AM, with an exclusive fan pre-sale from the band’s Facebook and official website from 9AM on 24th February.
To celebrate, POLIÇA have made a brand new song available to stream in the shape of “Lately.” It premiered today on TLOBF, who said: “It’s got all the grace of a loved-up pop classic, with cinematic sweeps and big, yearning vocals, but there’s a scratchy skitter underfoot, plus an erratic synth jarring against the grain… all’s not quite as it first seems. It’s tense, on edge, and despite the utter gorgeousness on display, quite bittersweet.”

Lead vocalist Channy Leaneagh on “Lately”: “Don’t let love become a distraction. I want to be moved by my lover but not put in a lethargic state of apathy for doing anything else but be with another person. Love is a place where we make each other better and inspire each other to make cool shit.”
“Lately” is lifted from new album United Crushers, out 4th March 2016 on Memphis Industries / Mom + Pop. The themes found and explored within the LP are both political and personal, touching on social injustice, self-doubt and isolation, the urban decline and gentrification.
Despite this darkness, there’s an element of defiance—a refusal to surrender and a rebellion in the face of repression. The follow-up to 2012’s Give You The Ghost and 2013’s Shulamith, United Crushers is sonically their most complex and celebratory yet. Within, the four-piece expand the depth of the arrangements, the crispness of their sound and the vulnerability of delivery on their signature synth and percussion-heavy songs.
