ON THE TURNTABLE: The Fall - The Frenz Experiment

Short, sharp and frank reviews from a confessed vinyl junkie. I’ll be posting my most loved records and most recent purchases right here for your perusal every week.

Recent re-issue of the tenth studio album from the late, great Mark E Smith and what he would later call his “Glory years” line up (which was in fact the 23rd, according to the sleeve notes).

This expanded edition includes singles and B sides that were not previously on the original album, and it’s all the better for it. Northern Soul stomper ‘There’s A Ghost In My House’ and The Kinks ‘Victoria’ get The Fall treatment as well as one of the most famous tracks ‘Hit The North’ being featured, although my favourite has to be ‘Athlete Cured’. Ramshackle never sounded so cool.
