ON THE TURNTABLE: Czarface & MF DOOM – Super What?

Short, sharp and frank reviews from a confessed vinyl junkie. I’ll be posting my most loved records and most recent purchases right here for your perusal every week.

Czarface & MF DOOM brand new album from the late great all-rounder and the supergroup Alt Rap trio. To say I was wounded when DOOM passed away would be a massive understatement, he’s my favourite all-time MC, so he’s left a massive black hole in the world of Hip Hop as far as I’m concerned, there will never be another like him.

With that in mind, this album, although brilliant, is bittersweet. It has everything you’ve come to expect from these Hip Hop maestros, heavy beats, almost Psychedelic in parts, rhymes and flows that are second to none and to top it off guest appearances from DMC, Kendra Morris, Godforbid and Del The Funky Homosapien. It’s impossible to say anything negative about a DOOM album, he and his mates just KNOW. Long may his music reign supreme. R.I.P. The G.O.A.T. MF DOOM.
