MYD releases new single 'Moving Men (ft. Mac DeMarco)' - Watch Video

Myd and Mac DeMarco are an unlikely pairing, coming from opposite sides of the world and opposite sides of the musical spectrum. But the two have long admired each other’s music & they eventually met backstage at one of Mac’s Paris shows several years back, introduced by mutual friends Gaspard Augé (of Justice) & Ed Banger label head, Busy P.

Today the pair have released their first-ever collaboration – Moving Men – which serves as the 2nd single from Myd’s forthcoming album – Born A Loser – on Ed Banger Records.

Check out the video for ‘Moving Men’ – BELOW:

Myd came to LA in March to shoot a music video and kick off a US tour, right as the pandemic hit. When all of his tour dates were abruptly cancelled, Myd connected with Mac who also just had his tour dates cancelled. Myd was tasked with delivering a very special gift to Mac, the long-coveted metallic convertible sports car from Justice’s iconic Fire music video (guest-starring Susan Sarandon), which Mac had long admired. After driving the car crosstown to Mac’s house (without plates or a license mind you), the guys kicked around a song idea about moving men.

“I met MYD in Paris a couple of years ago, then when he was in Los Angeles he came over one night and we wrote this song about moving men, he reminds me of some kind of bird, I like this guy.”

Revolving around an infectious whistling sample, Mac lends his luscious vocals to one of the more laidback tracks in Myd’s discography. The single comes with a hilarious animated video as well, featuring Myd and Mac as cartoon moving men who are more consumed with smoking weed and goofing around than moving furniture. The video was directed by Alexandre Nart.

Moving Men is the latest offering from Myd’s forthcoming album, following up the anthemic 1st single – Together We Stand – which was released in June. Stay tuned for more singles throughout the coming months before Myd drops the LP in full in early 2021.
