MILLTOWN BROTHERS

Milltown Brothers have announced that they will release a new album on Stanley Records on the 6th of November 2020. ‘Stockholm’, recorded recently in their hometown of Colne in Lancashire, is the follow up to 2015’s ‘Long Road’ and will be the quartet’s fifth long-player in a career that has spanned almost thirty years.

Available digitally at all major outlets and via the band’s social channels, the new collection features eight brand new compositions including the eponymously titled lead track and the forthcoming single ‘F.I.L.A.’. Joyous and yet at times understated, the new album brings together a set of gloriously uplifting and beautifully crafted pop tunes that captures the Milltown Brothers’ enduring vision of love, honesty and optimism to great effect.

Formed in Lancashire and still featuring the original line up of siblings Matt (Vocals / Guitar), and Simon Nelson (Guitar) together with James Fraser (Bass), Barney Williams (Organ / Piano) and Nian Brindle (Drums), the Milltown Brothers released their debut album ‘Slinky’ in 1991.

Critically acclaimed and timeless, the record was awarded a celebrated five stars review by Q Magazine and included the hits ‘Which Way Should I Jump’, ‘Here I Stand’ and ‘Apple Green’ and went on to sell in excess of 100K copies worldwide. The single ‘Which Way Should I Jump’ ultimately went on to make the top ten in the US Billboard Alternative Rock Chart, as well as being a hit in the UK, Europe and Japan.
