MARK MORRISS releases 'The Beans' from new solo album 'Look Up' - Listen Now

‘The Beans’, is the second single to be taken from Mark Morriss’ fourth solo album ‘Look Up’, and is set for a digital release via independent record label Reckless Yes on 23 August 2019.

With a sound which melodically evokes the idea of XTC and Elvis Costello rehearsing in adjoining rooms ‘The Beans’ lyrically tackles an unhealthy relationship with Morriss’ trademark wit and intelligence in the turn of phrase.

Perhaps best known as the frontman of indie band The Bluetones Mark Morriss is now well into a solo career and with the release of fourth album ‘Look Up’ we find his most creative work yet drawing on influences from Americana right through to ‘70s sci-fi soundtracks.

Having been recorded through a crowdfunding campaign in 2016 ‘Look Up’ is now set for a full release across vinyl, CD and digital. Those expecting straight-forward acoustic songwriting are in for a surprise as this is an album meticulously and skillfully constructed to create brilliantly melodic and catchy tracks from a musical spectrum taking in Country, folk, Americana, Prog, soundtracks, and classic pop.

‘The Beans’ is released digitally on 23 August 2019. ‘Look Up’ is released on vinyl, CD and digital on 20 September 2019. Special edition splatter vinyl and deluxe editions are sold out, blue vinyl copies remain via Reckless Yes and independent record stores.
