Manchester’s PUPPET THEORY share video for new single 'Modern Boys'

Manchester-based indie rock band Puppet Theory are made up of their Liverpudlian frontman Chris Pickering (vocals and guitar), Johnny Hearldon (lead guitar), Niall Musa (bass and backing vocals) and Paul Gallacher (drums). Drawing influences from early 2000s UK indie rock, classic pop-punk melodies and modern indie pop, Puppet Theory’s energetic music has begun to make waves in the North West of England, gathering a cult following of younger fans.

With their energetic live performance and memorable choruses, Puppet Theory have played some of the biggest stages in the North West of England, including Manchester’s Academy 2 alongside ‘Larkins’, Liverpool’s Hanger 34 and Preston’s 53 Degrees in addition to Manchester’s Dot to Dot Festival and Macclesfield Festival in 2018. In July 2019 they packed out Manchester’s Deaf Institute at their biggest headline show to date.

The boys have gained support from This Feeling, Scruff Of The Neck, BBC Introducing in Merseyside and XS Manchester’s Clint Boon. Puppet Theory’s evolving sound blends traditional, energetic indie music, modern synth techniques and belting vocals influenced by pop-punk music. This results in memorable, upbeat songs with driving beats and fantastic melodies.

With 2020 now upon us, Puppet Theory now set their sights on a string of new year releases of arguably their best material yet. With radio plays from BBC Introducing, BBC Radio Wales and Kerrang! Radio, the band look to build on top of the successful foundations that their previous single Katia laid.

The band wanted to write an up-tempo track with both modern and classic indie influences to reflect the modern theme of the track’
