Manchester’s Indie favourites The Rainband have announced the release of their new single ‘Storm’ on March 18th. As 2016 progresses, The Rainband will be returning to Glastonbury before playing alongside Paolo Nutini once again. A European tour will follow with dates to be announced in France, Italy and Spain.

The Rainband are no strangers to the music industry with high praise and plaudits from Paolo Nutini and both Liam and Noel Gallagher. In recent years the band have had critical and commercial success with their tracks ‘Rise Again’ and ‘Sirens’ both achieving top 10 positions in the UK Indie singles chart. 2015 saw them taking to the main stage at the world famous Isle of Wight Festival in support of the legendary Fleetwood Mac, before touring Europe with Paolo Nutini.

Founded in 2011 by frontman Martin Finnigan and guitarist Phil Rainey (former band mate of Peter Hook in Monaco), the band became a four piece when drummer Steve Irlam and multi-instrumentalist Joe Wilson joined the ranks, recently growing into a five piece with new addition bassist Sam Wilson.

The band have earned rave reviews from the likes of Liam Gallagher and Jim Kerr and are an established name on Manchester’s music scene. Following tours and support slots with legendary acts such as Simple Minds, Ocean Colour Scene and The Kaiser Chiefs, the Rainband received an invitation to the British Music Awards as Rising Stars handpicked by O2.

The Rainband’s single ‘Rise Again’ entered the top 10 indie charts upon its release in June 2012. ‘Rise Again’ also broke through in Italy, remaining in the Virgin charts for fourteen weeks and peaking at number 5. Released in tribute to late Moto GP rider Marco Simoncelli and in aid of the Simoncelli Foundation, ‘Rise Again’ has helped raise over €45,000 so far. Martin Finnigan continues to work for the Foundation as UK Ambassador.
