The Script Are Back!!

The Script are back and they performed at Derry’s Millennium Forum last night (Tuesday 22nd August). Entering the stage with an entirely new song called Rock the World from their brand new album Freedom Child (to be released on September 1st). It showed us that the old Script is still there despite their sound appearing to have changed through the release of Rain.

Danny O’Donoghue, Mark Sheehan and Glen Power, played their hits such as The Man Who Can’t Be Moved, Superheroes and For the First Time as well as some other new tracks, Arms Open, Rain and No Man Is An Island, like they had never been away for the past two years. Yes, their sound has changed slightly, as Rain is something you want to dance to (and is much better Live than the album version) whereas No Man Is An Island has a reggae sound with a modern twist. The new songs have the hallmarks of anthems in waiting. But they can still fall back on their crowd pleasers to keep the crowd going. The only downside to last night was the fact the venue was all seated. The guys were trying to get everyone up out of their seats and that didn’t really happen till the encore. Or when Danny went into the crowd.

Overall a very rocking night by The Script who prove they are still here to take the music world by storm once again.
