“London how the devil are you?” Royal Blood frontman Mike Kerr asked the 10,000 strong Alexandra Palace crowd on Monday night. He openly admitted that the duo made up of himself and drummer Ben Thatcher was not used to performing so many big indoor venues in one go, as they started their 3 night run in London.

Having only released their second album How Did We Get So Dark?, earlier in the year (which ended up beating Lorde’s Melodrama to the No.1 in the UK) and performing at some of their biggest venues to date. Also in another first, this album saw the guys incorporate piano into their music with track Hole in Your Heart.

They say that Alexandra Palace can be daunting for many artists, particularly for those so early in their career. However, the duo managed to keep the crowd rocking all night through belting out hits such as Little Monster and Lights Out. Also producing a brilliant laser show to compliment the songs and keep the audience engaged.

Kerr and Thatcher have had a promising start to their music careers that has continued despite a 3 year gap between albums.  I predict them to go even further and look forward to what their next album will have in store as if you shut your eyes and just listen to their music you would not believe that Royal Blood only consisted of two people as they sound like a four piece rock band.
