LITTLE SCOUT TO RELEASE THEIR DEBUT SINGLE IN THE UK

Hailing from Brisbane, Australia, Little Scout are set to release their debut single in the UK, ‘Go Quietly’ via brand new London-based label, Win-Win on 18th August.

Coming in off the back of a distorted hum and fuzz bass intro, Melissa Tickle’s sweet vocal immediately grabs your attention and holds it for the tune’s perfect pop 2.45 duration: Catchy, literate indie-pop smarts – the single has already picked up plays from 6Music’s Lauren Laverne on her ‘Recommended’ show (http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b048660n) and on Amazing Radio.

‘Go Quietly’, taken from Little Scout’s second album, ‘Are You Life’ is co-written with Scott Bromiley of local underground psych heroes, The John Steel Singers, and sees the band move into sonically adventurous new territory.

“It was one of those songs which didn’t reveal itself straight away,” says guitarist and songwriter Patrick Elliott. “We recorded the bass and drums late one night at the end of a session, and immediately felt like we had something. It ended up being the spark we needed for the rest of the record in many ways.”

‘Go Quietly’ picked up Triple J and national radio rotation back home in Australia where Little Scout have supported the likes of Sharon Van Etten, School of Seven Bells, First Aid Kit and Camera Obscura. This May Mel joined Robert Forster of The Go-Betweens every Sunday on Double J Radio for a programme called ‘Artist in Residence’.

‘Go Quietly’ is self-produced and recorded and mixed by Lars Stalfors (Cold War Kids, Deap Vally, The Mars Volta), the record reflects the more muscular, distorted sounds the band has developed in their live show. http://littlescout.tumblr.com/
