Fresh off a 30-date European tour with Dermot Kennedy, Northern Irish artist of the moment Lilla Vargen makes her first inroads into 2020 today with the stunning new offering, ‘Cold’.

A beautifully poised, sky-reaching pop song showcasing Lilla’s stunning vocals over crisp production from MyRiot (London Grammar, Halsey, Aurora), ‘Cold’ cements Lilla Vargen as a must-watch artist this year.

Speaking about the release, Lilla says:

“‘Cold’ is about realising that you’re settling for less than you deserve in a relationship and having the courage to confront your partner. I’ve felt at fault in the past, and trapped in a situation that deep down I knew I needed to move away from. This song is me coming to terms with that, and deciding to make positive change.”

With a UK and Irish headline tour set for April (including The Grand Social on April 19th), 2020 looks set to be a breakthrough year for Lilla. Her recently released EP ‘We Were Thunder’ gained acclaim from press such as Wonderland, The Independent amongst others, with many praising the power of her vocals and the beauty within her songwriting.

Her support slot for chart-topping Dermot Kennedy, saw Lilla Vargen play for over 100,000 people in the past couple of months alone, while the 20 million streams that she has racked up makes her the most-streamed new artist in Ireland right now.

Now with SXSW in her sights, and debut LA and NY shows on the horizon, the ambitions for the project are stretching to international territories, where she already has a solid streaming foundation.

Beyond statistics, Lilla Vargen is beautifully unique. Stellar vocals that can illuminate big rooms and intimate, relatable songwriting combine to create tracks perfect to sing aloud or reflect to. ‘Cold’ is the first of many exciting moves from Lilla Vargen coming this year.
