Liam Gallagher's sold-out Knebworth Park shows receive a rapturous reception

Liam Gallagher’s return to Knebworth Park – the location of Oasis’s legendary 1996 summer shows – proved to be a spectacular triumph. Having sold all 170,000 tickets for both shows within a matter of minutes, the two gigs saw Liam inspire elation and adoration throughout his career-spanning sets.

Performing big moments from his solo career including ‘Everything’s Electric’, ‘Once’, ‘Shockwave’ and more, Liam ended both shows with a run of timeless Oasis classics, concluding with ‘Champagne Supernova’, featuring special guest John Squire of The Stone Roses. The guitarist famously joined Oasis for that same song back in 1996, a moment captured in the ‘Oasis Knebworth 1996’ concert film.

Praise came from NME, who stated: “LG comes out fighting to deliver an epic day in the sun, bringing Oasis’ iconic gigs to the new generation.” Meanwhile, Clash’s review described it as “A triumphant and rousing return for the ultimate rock ‘n’ roll star.”

The Knebworth Park shows cap a biblical weekend for Liam. Friday saw his third solo studio album ‘C’MON YOU KNOW’ go straight to #1 with 70,000 first week sales, while his live album ‘Down By The River Thames’ debuted at #4.

Liam commented, “Thanks to everyone who bought ‘C’MON YOU KNOW’ and ‘Down By The River Thames’. No. 1 and No. 4 in the charts – whoever said rock ‘n’ roll is dead needs a good slap with a wet sock. Anyways thanks once again, LG x.”

Between his resurgent solo career and his iconic work with Oasis, Liam has now reached #1 on the UK Official Album Chart with a total of twelve albums that span almost thirty years.
