LIAM GALLAGHER launches new adidas Spezial collab with an intimate show in Blackburn

When an iconic rock ‘n’ roll star teams up with the classiest, coolest sportswear brand around, you know you’re going to get something special. When Liam Gallagher joined forces with adidas Spezial for their latest collaboration, the result is the new LG2SPZL trainers, which combines the timeless elegance of adidas’s famous three stripes with the biblical style that only Liam can deliver. Follow #LG2SPZL and #adidasspezial for the latest updates on its launch.

A life-long fan of the three stripes, Liam will celebrate the launch of the LG2SPZL trainers by playing a special intimate show in association with adidas Spezial. He will play King George’s Hall in Blackburn on April 27th. The 1800-capacity venue will surely be the most intimate show that he will play this year and could well see him play select songs from the eagerly anticipated new album ‘C’MON YOU KNOW’ for the first time. Demand for tickets is sure to be overwhelming – all 160,000 tickets for his two nights at Knebworth Park sold-out in a matter of moments, as did the additional 10,000 that were recently released.

Liam says, “I’m glad to announce my new collaboration with adidas Spezial. It’s our take on the one and only Barrington Smash and it’s absolutely incredible. And if that’s not enough to blow your wig off, I’m going to be playing The King George’s Hall in Blackburn, Lancashire. All proceeds from the gig will be in aid of Nightsafe, a local homeless charity.”

There is only one way to get your hands on a money-can’t-buy ticket. They will be available exclusively through a raffle on the adidas CONFIRMED app. The ticket sign-up phase opens on CONFIRMED at 3pm GMT on Tuesday, April 19th. It closes at midnight GMT on April 22nd before the lucky winners will be informed via a push notification at 8am on Saturday, April 23rd. Winners then have until 8pm on Monday, April 25th  to validate their ticket via the app. All winners will receive a pair of tickets and will be asked to donate £20 to the Nightsafe charity to confirm attendance.

The CONFIRMED app is a sneakerhead’s dream. It gives you unprecedented insider access to an exclusive curated collection of adidas collabs and hyped drops for men and women. CONFIRMED is guaranteed to bring you refined and exclusive content from the adidas community, with  access to cool designers and collectors’ insights and stories. The app is available from the App Store and from Google Play.

The show will benefit Nightsafe, a charity based in Blackburn. Nightsafe works with young people who are homeless or are at risk of homelessness and will provide accommodation, day centres with information, advice and guidance. As well as the ticket donations, the charity will also receive all proceeds from two new Liam Gallagher merch items created in association with adidas Spezial which will be available at the show – a limited-edition t-shirt design and a new poster.

Support comes from The Illicits. The Blackburn terrace punk quartet are signed to Alan McGee’s Creation 23 label and have earned the attention of numerous big names, having also supported Primal Scream, DMA’S and Miles Kane. They even had Sex Pistols legend Steve Jones guest on their single ‘Left Behind’.

Set to be released on May 27th, the ‘C’MON YOU KNOW’ album infuses Liam’s classic, hands-in-the-air anthems with fresh experimental flourishes. Previewed by the Top 20 hit ‘Everything’s Electric’ and the raucous title track, the record is perfectly positioned to become Liam’s fourth UK #1 solo album.

In addition to ‘C’MON YOU KNOW’, May 27th will also see Liam release the ‘Down By The River Thames’ live album. Originally streamed on December 5th 2020, the show became one of the most memorable performances of the lockdown era. Liam followed the precedent set by the Sex Pistols and The Clash, and decided to hit the River Thames, armed with a boatload of attitude, a phenomenal live band (including Bonehead) and an arsenal of classic songs.
