Legendary Musicians Who Had A Passion For Gambling

50 CENT announces new track "9 SHOTS" (out 15th August) + three UK arena dates for November 2015

If there is something we know about gambling, it is that no one is above it. Many famous individuals are also avid gamblers, and just like you, they use similar strategies and even bet bigger. Thanks to brands like bet365 Ireland, they can place both smaller and larger stakes depending on the net worth. The only thing is that some choose not to reveal their love for gambling to the public.

On the other hand, we know some legendary musicians who have a strong passion for gambling. These individuals don’t try to hide that they actively gamble as they see it as a fun way of life. Do you want to know them too? Read on and find out.

Madonna

It may hit you as a surprise, but the queen of pop has a very strong passion for gambling. Her participation in SuperEnaLotto, an Italian lottery, is well-known. Her grandparents from her father’s side are from Italian roots, and our queen has found solitude in this Italian lottery game.

And since she resides in the US, the Italian lottery tickets are not available. So she uses a messenger service that acts as a middleman, buying her tickets and sending them to her. That is how far she goes to play, and it paid off as she came second place in 2012 after purchasing 100 tickets from the draw. She won up to £120,000. She used the money to build a school in Malawi after adopting four children from the country.

Lady Gaga

Lady Gaga is another star that sees gambling as a fun way of life. In fact, she prefers to visit physical casinos to play games as she has been spotted in some Las Vegas casinos over time. She did not deny it and also highlighted that she just loves it for enjoyment—not for wins and losses. She even has a song titled ‘Poker Face.’ Although it does not expressly speak about poker, she highlights it a few times in the hit song.

Ian Fraser Kilmister

We popularly know him as Lemmy, a rockstar for the rock band Motörhead. And although he is late now, he never shielded his love for gambling all through his rockstar life. In fact, the band has a hit song titled ‘Ace of Spades’, and the song has an obvious connection with gambling. Although Lemmy later revealed that he preferred slot games over poker, as proposed by his fans.

In 2016, NetEnt, the popular provider, got the approval of the band to release a special Motörhead slot. That move further solidified Lemmy and the band’s connection to gambling in our hearts.

50 Cent

Famous rapper, Curtis James Jackson, popularly known as 50 Cent is also a huge gambling fan. What makes this star different is that he breaks the bank on his stakes. Some of his popular bets are:

  • $500,000 stake on New York Giants to defeat San Francisco 49ers in the 2012 NFC Championship
  • $1.6 million bet on Floyd Mayweather to defeat Manny Pacquiao

These are only a few that he made public as the rapper is more involved in gambling than most people know. He also has an exclusive game called 50 Cent’s Blackjack which he launched on Facebook in 2015.

Wrap Up

It must feel so refreshing to know that some of your favourite musicians are also avid gamblers.  Although they stake millions, they are not any different from you. Same bookies, sports, and results, so it is a level playing field.
