LEA PORCELAIN share video for ‘Can I Really Decide’

LEA PORCELAIN unveil new video for 'If Time Was On My Side' - Watch Now

Berlin’s post-punk heroes LEA PORCELAIN celebrate the release of their brand new EP with a broad trip style video for new track ‘Can I Really Decide’ and a special London show at Sebright Arms on 4th June.

They detail the track: “Our song describes a sense of freedom, a wild time, a start of spring in another country, a reboot, a false start, a life issue, as we thought it was, in a life where we wonder what it really is that we want? What do I really decide? Or is it decided for me from the outside? Am I determined? Am I living my life or living for someone else? The song is a testimony to the life and freedom that you have to take again and again, in a world that wants to silence you.”

The band’s first foray has seen a well-received itinerary throughout Europe supporting alt-J, including a sold-out London show and taking on the BBC Radio 1 stage at Reading & Leeds last year, establishing Lea Porcelain as a band to keep an eye out for over the coming months.

The band detail the EP: “This EP is a compilation of tracks that we personally love and felt that we had to put on an extra EP, when the time was right. These tracks show a different side of us, in another context, but fully preserve the soul of our music. We think it’s really important to focus on context and aesthetics. We did have a few tracks that were going in this direction on the album (A year from here, Endlessly, The Love) but the tracks on this EP needed their own attention and an external release. Every track on this EP feels for us like it needs to see the world and cannot be held back from us. It is our approach to always expand to other styles and simultaneously keep the same underlying emotion that makes our music sound like ‘Lea Porcelain’.”

Following the release of the band’s critically acclaimed debut album ‘HYMNS TO THE NIGHT‘, released via Kobalt UK/ Rough Trade last June, Julien Brecht and Markus Nikolaus kick start the New Year with a clutch of new songs and a new more fervent, energetic direction; bringing their unique live experience of power and grandeur across Germany this April.
