KING GIZZARD & THE LIZARD WIZARD share video to new track, 'O.N.E.'

Having finished the end of last year with a stunning animated video for the previously unreleased If Not Now, Then When?, King Gizzard And The Lizard Wizard have today dropped another brand new track, O.N.E.

The track is accompanied by a kaleidoscopic cut & paste video directed by Melbourne videographer Alex McClaren. Talking about the video, Alex said:

The song itself feels as if it’s constantly moving along so I tried to keep the visuals continually moving forward and sliding into different visual styles and landscapes. I felt the mix of stop motion and collage through the use of found imagery and the band would help compliment the track’s lyrics and themes as I interpreted them, of dreams, nightmares, climate change, dystopias, and utopias, as well as referencing events that took place during the making of the video over 2020. All video of the band was shot by Ambrose during the second lockdown restrictions and I had to give notes on shooting and direct remotely which was strange but so was everything during that period.

O.N.E is taken from the band’s as-yet-unannounced follow-up album to K.G. Stu Mackenzie in response to recent rumours about the new album said:

King Gizzard’s new album (y’all know what it’s called) is definitely not coming out in February.

Arguably the most tireless band on the planet, November saw the band release their most recent studio album, K.G. to much acclaim. On the same day in November, they also released a live album, Live In San Francisco ’16 and companion live concert film and earlier in the year Live In Asheville ’19 and Demos Vol.1 + Vol.2 came out via Bandcamp

Additionally, April saw them release a live tour movie (and attendant album) Chunky Shrapnel, an up-close, unconventional and discombobulating portrait that captured the power and sheer oddness of the live Gizz experience, a tour that culminated in a sold-out headline show at London’s historic Alexandra Palace in late 2019.

King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard are Stu Mackenzie (vocals/guitar), Ambrose Kenny-Smith(harmonica/vocals/keyboards), Cook Craig (guitar/vocals), Joey Walker (guitar/vocals), Lucas Harwood(bass) and Michael Cavanagh (drums).
