JOHN MCCULLAGH & THE ESCORTS:  to play prestigious London live headline debut

With their debut album only weeks away from hitting the shelves, John McCullagh & The Escorts clearly have confidence in spades in their long-player as they step up to make their London live headline debut with: This Feeling. Once proclaimed as “a colossal club night” by Noel Gallagher, the notorious do will take the capital’s premier indie hideout, The Macbeth, by storm on the 4th April 2015.

As one of the country’s biggest and best renowned club nights, it has garnered an unimpeachable reputation for featuring the best in indie Rock’n’Roll. And now, true to form This Feeling have picked John McCullagh and his electric new entourage The Escorts especially for their comeback bash.

To mark this special occasion John McCullagh & The Escorts will be playing songs lifted exclusively from the new album Newborn Cry, offering fans a unique opportunity to hear the new material ahead of its highly anticipated release.

Championed for putting the sharpest new live bands on the circuit upon its stage and the biggest names in Rock’n’Roll including Oasis, Kasabian, The Coral, The Libertines and more behind its decks, the club night has always delivered an evening of killer tunes and ecstatic atmosphere. And by welcoming into its hall of fame a front-man described as “doing Dylan better than Dylan” by none-other than Courtney Love and fans in the likes of Richard Hawley, Cast, Alan McGee to name a few, John McCullagh is sure to live up to the club’s lofty expectations.

Signed to the coveted 359 Records when he was just 15, the prodigiously talented McCullagh (still only in his teens) is now readying the release of his second album: Newborn Cry, a record that has seen the singer work in the studio alongside the inimitable John Power (Cast, James). Slated for release 4th May 2015, McCullagh and his new backing three-piece The Escorts, have offered a taste of the new material to come with the irresistibly jangly “Box of Tricks” and whip-cracking countrified guitar licks of “She’s Calling Me” (released this week – 23rd March 2015).

In the last year, the foursome have soaked up experience sharing a stage with the likes of heavyweights including The Strypes, Richard Hawley, The Enemy, Babyshambles, Alabama 3, Paul Heaton and Reverend & The Makers. And now, following a support slot with the legendary CAST in Brixton Electric in December 2014, the band return to London to make their own mark with their first headline show in the city for a this special This Feeling show.
