JAMES BLUNT tests the water with video for new single ‘Cold’ – Watch Now

JAMES BLUNT Announces Early 2020 UK Tour

Following the announcement of his most welcome return, James Blunt is back in the water for his video for new single ‘Cold’, taken from his eagerly anticipated sixth studio album ‘Once Upon A Mind’ – out October 25th on Atlantic Records.

Shot on the Isle Of Skye, and directed by Calum Macdiarmid, the video serves up déjà vu, mirroring the iconic music video for his debut classic global hit single ‘You’re Beautiful’.

‘Cold’ encapsules an older, wiser, James Blunt. Fifteen years on from iconically diving into the water, he’s washed ashore in the same clothes, scaling cliffs and producing moments of jaw dropping tension and drama with no stunt doubles involved. Fans will be able to connect the dots as he pays further homage to ‘You’re Beautiful’, picking up original items from the video during his ascent, where he’s eventually airlifted to safety.

Speaking of the video, James sums it up simply; “Once upon a time, I threw myself off a big cliff. Fourteen years later, and here’s the next chapter!”

News of James’ new album has been met with huge support across the board from fans and media alike. Following an outpouring of love on social media, he took to The One Show on BBC One to perform a stunning acoustic version of ‘Cold’, complete with a Gospel Choir.

On the new album, James has worked with a variety of producers including Steve Robson, Jimmy Hogarth and TMS. Highlights are many and include the poignant ballad ‘Monsters’, the pop swagger of ‘5 Miles’ and the country tinged ‘Halfway.’ There’s a warmth that permeates the entire album, and a real sense of personality.

James Blunt released that classic first album, ‘Back To Bedlam’, in the autumn of 2004 and soon after the single ‘You’re Beautiful’ became a global smash hit. He has sold over 23 million albums and has showcased his wit and charm more recently with his always engaging twitter account.
