Irish alt-pop songwriter Rebekah Fitch takes influence from poetry and experimental electronica. New single ‘Game Over’ leans into the electronic side, with a despondency that perfectly captures the feeling of having the rug pulled from under you that accompanies your early twenties.

Rebekah has created a playable video game as the video for the single – it’s really cool.

On the video Rebekah said;

“I designed the video game with my 17-year-old brother – it was our first time doing anything like this!

I’m always trying to think of new ways to engage with people through my music and creativity, so instead of doing another music video, I wanted to create something interactive, that people could be involved in. In a time when we can’t engage with audiences at live gigs, I felt a strong need to find a new way to maintain a tangible connection.

The song itself deals with the new pressures of adult life as we grow up, and this constant cycle of striving to keep up is reflected in the video game itself.”

Rebekah’s live shows are multi-instrumental, utilising live loops of vocals, a flute and other instruments to create a wall of sound. This engaging performance style has been seen on Sky One, BBC Two and at sold-out venues such as London’s Koko.

Rebekah was included in Hot Press and The Thin Air’s 2019 Watch Lists, along with being nominated for Best Emerging Act in the Northern Irish Music Prize.
