David Coverdale and his legendary band Whitesnake visited Newcastle as a part of their farewell tour. After more than 40 years of a successful music career, Coverdale stated during the gig that “…I was ready to retire at 69. Perfect age for retirement. Now I’m 70… f*cking pandemic!”.
Europe and Foreigner were two guest bands who also put on mind-blowing high energy performances. “The Final Countdown” and Joey Tempest’s infectious charisma shook the arena’s floor. After Europe’s magnificent performance, it was Foreigner’s turn to get on stage.
The band’s frontman Kelly Hansen was constantly interacting with the audience. With the band’s guitar, drum and keyboard solos, Foreigner made the crowd cheer as loud as possible. When Whitesnake came up on stage, it was clear that all three bands complimented each other perfectly and the line-up made perfect sense.
