HOWIE PAYNE shares new mix of 'Evangeline', taken from his acclaimed second solo album ‘Mountain’

Howie Payne has today released a new California mix of ‘Evangeline (Los Angeles)’, a track taken from his acclaimed second solo album ‘Mountain’. The former Stands frontman is currently on a headline acoustic tour, which includes a show at London’s Rosemary Branch Theatre next Wednesday Feb 21st.

‘Mountain’, the long-awaited follow-up to his 2009 Ethan Johns-produced debut ‘Bright Light Ballads’, was released digitally in late 2017. Howie recently released the album on 12inch vinyl, along with an acoustic version of the album, ‘Mountain (Acoustic)’, recorded at London’s Hoxa Studio.

“I thought it’d be quite cool to record the songs as I’ve been playing them at the acoustic shows, just as they were written, in their purest form with no overdubs or anything like that,” says Howie. “I went into Hoxa Studio in London and recorded them in an afternoon. It’s the same songs, so it’s connected, but has its own vibe and is its own thing, like a sketch is to a painting.”

Howie recently performed an acoustic version ‘Evangeline (Los Angeles)’ for The Blues Kitchen Presents – Watch BELOW:
