Holy Holy announce European Tour including London & Leeds

Following a sold out show at London’s Lexington at the end of last year, Australian duo HOLY HOLY have announced a much anticipated headline show at London’s Electrowerkz on Tuesday 27 September with tickets going on sale on Wednesday 22 June at 10am, along with a slot at Reeperbahn Festival in Hamburg, Indiestadt Festival at Paradiso in The Netherlands, and headline shows in Leeds, Rotterdam and Paris.

HOLY HOLY is the musical project of Timothy Carroll & Oscar Dawson, who met originally whilst traveling in Southeast Asia ten years ago and they then re-connected in 2011 in Europe. Carroll had asked Dawson to assist with some songs, which saw them write ‘a suite of demons’. The pair continued collaborating back in Australia with Carroll admitting ‘at this stage we weren’t even sure what the project was going to be. We were just feeling our way through it’. Fortunately it led to the release of their first single the psychedelic, if foreboding ‘Impossible Like You’ and the buzz around them officially started.

Known for their classic songs, the pair bonded over Neil Young (and Crazy Horse), Crosby, Stills & Nash, Bruce Springsteen, Pink Floyd and Dire Straits as well as contemporary acts like Midlake, Band of Horses and Grizzly Bear.

The band, have already received critical acclaim for their debut album ‘When The Storms Would Come’ and are set to release their first single from the record this July. The album is produced by the experienced Matt Redlich, and also features Ryan Strathie on drums (ex-Hungry Kids of Hungary) and Graham Ritchie on bass (Airling’s collaborator), and their live show now features all three, creating HOLY HOLY’S jaw-dropping five-piece live show.

HOLY HOLY are already making a huge impact in Australia, their debut album ‘When The Storm Would Comes In’ hitting #11 on the National ARIA Album Chart, #2 on the National Indie Chart and #8 on the iTunes chart, playing to huge festival crowds around the country including Splendour In The Grass, and a much sought after national support tour with Vance Joy. With most of their headline shows in their homeland selling out well in advance, and all six singles thus far achieving high rotation on Triple J (Australia’s youth radio network), they are cementing themselves as one of the most promising bands around.

Commenting on the shows, front man Timothy Carroll said; “Our last European tour was really memorable. It’s always humbling to play to full rooms so far from home and we played some amazing rooms across the continent. These shows in September will also be the first in which we will play songs from our upcoming sophomore Album so it will be very interesting to see how crowds react to the evolution of our sound.”

Classic songs. Huge Supports. Sold out headline shows. International gigs. Rave reviews. From start to finish HOLY HOLY really are exceptional.
