HBO unveil trailer for KURT COBAIN documentary - 'Montage of Heck' - Watch

The first trailer for the forthcoming HBO documentary of late Nirvana leader Kurt Cobain – titled Kurt Cobain: Montage of Heck – has surfaced following the film’s premiere at the Sundance Film Festival.

If the film is anywhere near as powerful as the two-and-a-half minute trailer, it’s going to be a doozy. The clip’s narrative is structured chronologically, and follows Cobain first as a child, then as a rebellious teen and ultimately a rock star who, as one family member says, was unprepared for the insane fame that ultimately descended.

As Rolling Stone notes, the trailer, like the film itself, is paced by interviews with family members and Nirvana bassist Krist Novoselic, as well as a taped conversation between Cobain and RS contributor David Fricke. It includes never-before-seen home movies and family photos including footage of Cobain playing with his infant daughter, Frances Bean.

Kurt Cobain: Montage of Heck airs May 4th and will be preceded by a companion book containing “a mixture of animation stills, rare photography and other treasures from Kurt Cobain’s personal archive.”
