HAPPY MONDAYS – 25th anniversary tour of Pills ‘n’ Thrills and Bellyaches comes to Belfast

In 1990, Manchester ruled the music world. Central to everything were Happy Mondays. Under the leadership of vocalist Shaun Ryder, Happy Mondays immersed themselves in the club and rave culture, eventually becoming the most recognizable band of that scene.

Their generation-defining album Pills ‘n’ Thrills and Bellyaches marked the height of the band’s popularity, creativity, and influence. It was the album’s centre-piece ‘Step On’ that brought Happy Mondays to the Top 5 singles charts and Top of the Pops. And for a moment in time, it felt like the party would last forever. It didn’t. But it was great while it did. 25 years later, the only decent thing to do is commemorate a record that is a definable document burnt into the history of British music and youth culture as the original line-up takes to the road again.

Saturday 12th December 2015, Mandela Hall, Belfast, University Road, BT7 1NF
