GHXST RELEASE SPOOKY NEW VIDEO ON HALLOWEEN, watch here

GHXST is a New York based noise grunge trio composed of Shelley X, Chris Wild and Nathan La Guerra. With influences such as the Jesus and Mary Chain, White Zombie, and Sonic Youth, they evoke the rockin’ 90s with a new kind of stylish noise rock, full of killer distortion, bluesy vocals, and heavy drums.
Following the release of a few infectious singles, Brooklyn-based doom/blues trio GHXST return with the release of ‘Nowhere EP’ in December through Club.The.Mammoth.

The EP has been recorded over the last year between New Orleans, Nashville and Brooklyn. Even though the band’s characteristic doomy/grungey sounds of their first releases are all there, Nowhere EP also shows a more ethereal and grounded side to theor music.

The first track to be taken off the EP is ‘Galaxia’, a song that captures the band at their heaviest and most intoxicating, as singer Shelley X’s moody vocals echoes against a wave of droning guitars. ‘Galaxia’ is released on 10th November 2014 on Club.The.Mammoth

The band has now release a creepy, dark video, just in time for Halloween. About the video, lead singer Shelley X says: “It was shot in a week with Clay Adamcyk who we’ve been collaborating with for live visuals. He uses ‘video synths’ to manipulate overlay effects and I think that style adds a psychological future vibe to the video. The video was inspired by Philip K Dick novels, cult sci-fi movies like John Carpenter’s “They Live”, and taking trips to empty NY beaches at night.”
