GEORGE COSBY releases his second EP ‘Lonely Heartbeats’ - Listen to new song ‘Baby It Ain’t So Hard’

George Cosby today releases his second EP ‘Lonely Heartbeats’, which includes the brand new song ‘Baby It Ain’t So Hard’. Throughout the five-song release, George shows a real talent for honing in those make-or-break moments in relationships, whether it’s with those tiny details that mean you never quite forget someone or the sudden realisation that you’re in far deeper than you ever anticipated. His poetic lyricism and luxuriant baritone will connect with anyone who has seen the course of true love run less than smoothly.

George says, “I’m over the moon and back again to have this ‘Lonely Heartbeats’ collection out. The theme is love, obviously, but diving a little deeper the songs are picked out from a period where I felt very headstrong with my journey and how that collided with matters of the heart was not always complementary. The pull of both can be hard to balance. I wonder if I was even looking too hard for stories to tell.

The lyrics often pick out moments or details I encountered along the way: specific conversations, a tattoo that stuck with me, the usual existential crises, and evenings where you take a leap of faith. They weren’t all written or even recorded during the same time but I thought they held a similar soul and together told a small but meaningful story.”

The new song ‘Baby It Ain’t So Hard’ continues the passionate fervour that made George’s recent singles ‘Lonely Heartbeats’ and ‘Paris’ so memorable. While many of his songs touch upon faltering love, ‘Baby It Ain’t So Hard’ is an impassioned plea to a love interest to make the most of their blossoming spark. George’s luscious widescreen pop expresses the sentiment that opening up to the vulnerabilities of a new romance may be daunting… but sometimes you just have to take that gamble.

George co-wrote all five songs on the EP, with co-writes and production credits coming from an array of leading talents. His collaborations include Oli Bayston (Loyle Carner, Rachel Chinouriri), Justin Parker (Lana Del Rey, Dua Lipa), Jennifer Decilveo (Anne-Marie, Andra Day’s ‘Rise Up’), Jamie Hartman (Lewis Capaldi, Rag’n’Bone Man), Dan Grech (The Killers, George Ezra), Jon Green (James Bay, Maisie Peters) and Dane Etteridge (Freddie Long).

Between ‘Lonely Heartbeats’ and his 2021 debut EP ‘We Stand Alone’, George Cosby has established a groundswell of early support which showcases his broad appeal. Radio highlights have included a Radio 2 B-list as well as spins at BBC Introducing and Radio 5, while streaming is building too, especially at Apple Music. He also enjoyed the unusual distinction of BBC1 using his song ‘She Got It Bad’ to soundtrack their coverage of this year’s Winter Olympics.

George celebrated the release of ‘Lonely Heartbeats’ by headlining St. Pancras Old Church last night, a show that sold out weeks in advance and that completed his debut European headline tour. His next London headline show comes at Omeara on October 25th, with remaining tickets available HERE.
