Flo Morrissey releases the video for her debut single, Pages of Gold, (out on 7” on 13th April). The 20 year old Londoner, who is preparing to release her debut album this summer, will follow recent UK shows with The Staves and her current US tour with Ibeyi, with live dates including a European tour with Tobias Jesso Jr, playing Dublin’s Unitarian Church on May 10th.
Flo Morrissey’s voice and her songwriting possess a timelessness; an ethereal and innocent quality coupled with the weight of an old soul. It’s a rare quality, one that calls to mind the work of Karen Dalton, Jackson C Frank or Joanna Newsom, and that marks her out as a distinct and remarkable talent.
Signed to Glassnote Records last year, Morrissey has since spent time recording with Noah Georgeson (Devendra Banhart, Joanna Newsom, Cate Le Bon) in Los Angeles and with Philippe Zdar in Paris. While recording, Flo has impressed further audiences with select performances at SXSW, Green Man and Wilderness Festivals, and opening for Damon Albarn at Les InRocks festival in Paris.
