EMBRZ Reveals emotive new pop track ‘Close 2 U’ feat newcomer Harvie - Listen Now

Rising Irish star EMBRZ (Jack Casey) is pleased to announce details of his brand new futuristic ballad ‘Close 2 U’ featuring Aussie newcomer Harvie out now via Ultra Music. ‘Close 2 U’ follows on from Jack’s much lauded ‘Progress’ EP released last year and draws on his early influences to create an emotionally beautiful pop record.

Jack details the track: “When I wrote ‘Close 2 U’, I really wanted to channel that old EMBRZ sound. Some of my first ever releases, ‘Slow Down’ & “Make Your Way’ are still really special to me, and I wanted to try capture the same feelings I had when I wrote those songs. I feel like I’m in a really happy place writing-wise. It’s important to challenge yourself and try out other styles, but I always find myself going back to writing emotional and nostalgic music. The music I first started out on.”

‘Close 2 U’ is a breathtakingly emotive record, sees Jack effortlessly drawing on electronic, jazz and ambient influences resulting in a truly immersive soundscape. Juxtaposing themes of hope and loss over powerful, melodic rhythms.

Over the few short years that Jack has been producing music as EMBRZ, he’s notched up an impressive tally of achievements, remixing Ellie Goulding’s “How Long Will I Love You” (currently on over 6.6 million plays) in 2013 and then The 1975’s “Settle Down” (currently on 3 million) the following year. Continuing that run, last year Jack turned out a stunning, blissful remix of Carly Rae Jepsen’s “Run Away With Me” – a remix so good her label couldn’t say yes fast enough and which ultimately became the official remix for the track. Since then, he’s been uploading a steady stream of tracks and Hype Machine #1’s, including well-received cuts like “Home”, “Lights” and then “Breathe” last year.

EMBRZ is playing the Ultra Music SXSW showcase on 15th March today.
