Doves are returning to Ireland for their first headline, indoor live dates since 2009! A night Belfast’s Limelight have been confirmed in the band’s diary for 7th April 2021, with the cherished Manchester three-piece announcing their return just weeks before the release of their long-awaited, fifth studio album, The Universal Want. Tickets on sale Friday at 9 am from Ticketmaster.ie and www.limelightbelfast.com

Bowled over by the overwhelming, international response to their freshly-minted, ambitious, yet ‘instant classic’ Doves tracks, Carousels and Prisoners, Jimi Goodwin, Andy and Jez Williams take their sweeping, emotive live experience indoors for the first time since their remarkable Royal Albert Hall comeback show in March 2019.

Returning for their first headline theatre shows in twelve years, the last chance Doves fans got to enjoy live versions of hits including Pounding, There Goes The Fear and Snowden was at the Olympia, Dublin on Mon 20 April 2009. Doves returned briefly to Ireland in June 2019 during an initial run of comeback outdoor and festival dates, that time as main support to Noel Gallagher at his huge Malahide Castle show.

Tickets to catch Doves next year go on general sale to fans on Fri 21 August 2020 at 9 am with both confirmed dates as follows:

Tue 6 Apr Dublin, Olympia
Wed 7 Apr Belfast, Limelight

Doves live dates in Ireland come as part of an expansive UK & Ireland Tour, covering 15 dates, also taking in cities including Glasgow, Manchester, Leeds, Bristol and London. Ticket links for Doves dates in Ireland, as well as across the UK, will be available and updated at www.dovesofficial.com

First emerging in 1998, Doves’ debut album, Lost Souls (2000), received a Mercury Award nomination, before Number One follow-up, The Last Broadcast (2002) achieved the same critical feat, at the same time as delivering the major league, breakthroughs singles, There Goes The Fear and Pounding. Straight-to-Number One follow up, Some Cities (2005) and final, pre-pause album Kingdom of Rust (2009) completed what could have been a perfect legacy had the story ended there.

Not content to leave those threads untied, Doves finally release The Universal Want to patient fans on Fri 11 September 2020 in multiple, special edition formats including a sought-after box set, comprising the album on vinyl and cassette, a limited-edition Remix LP, postcards and signed prints. Limited edition, coloured vinyl editions make their way to fans via the band’s mailing lists and Indie Stores Exclusive. All currently available formats, with many exceeding already overwhelming demand, can be found here.
