DMA’S Unveil Brand New video for ‘Delete', Watch

Since the DMA’S burst on the scene last year they have not stopped with thrilling and anthemic shows all over the world. They have just finished recording their debut album ‘Hills End’ which is due for release on February 26th 2016 through Infectious/BMG.

The singles ‘Your Low’ and more recently ‘Lay Down’ caught the attention of the british media and they’ve been touted as ‘Ones To Watch’ in 2016 recently by the NME, who also describe next single ‘Delete’ as “Something glorious”. They’ve received A list support from Radio 1, 6 Music and Radio X – Dave Roundtree of Blur said on air “(DMA’S) have the swagger of Oasis and the musicality and inventiveness of Arctic Monkeys.”

Having first come from Australia (via a triumphant appearance at CMJ in New York) to perform at the Great Escape in Brighton, they have since played festivals all around the world including Benicassim, Reading and Leeds, Latitude, Lollapalooza, Haldern Pop and Lowlands to name a few. With sold-out shows all over Europe, the US and Japan they completed a headline UK tour in 2015 which culminated in a sweaty, singalong show at London Dingwall’s.

‘Hills End’ was mainly recorded by the band in guitarist Johnny Took’s bedroom in Sydney; a collection of the three friends’ endeavours over the past three years and, sometimes, beyond. It’s a record that takes each individual’s own influences – folk artists like Dylan for Took, “American guitar bands from the ’90s,” for Mason and English bands passed down to O’Dell by his older brother and Liverpudlian dad like The Beatles, The Stone Roses and The La’s – and throws them all in one big mixing pot. It’s that which makes DMA’S music so enticing – on first listen you might think you’ve got them pegged with the obvious, but give them another spin with a closer ear and all kinds of varied nuances start bringing themselves to light.
After the attention awarded to the band the album ended up being mixed by the award winning producer Mark ‘Spike’ Stent. The twelve track album showcases the band’s unique talent in writing both anthemic and heartfelt tunes which manage to sound like immediate classic guitar-pop songs. The album is looking to be one of the most exciting releases of 2016 and can only further the buzz the band have already created. The DMA’s tour the UK next month – full dates below.
