DJANGO DJANGO GEAR UP FOR HUGE UK SHOWS TO SEE OUT 2015

Rounding off what has been a stellar year for the cosmic pop outfit, DJANGO DJANGO are now preparing to hit the road for what will be the biggest UK dates of their career so far. 2015 has been an outstanding year for Django Django with the release of their inventive second album ‘Born Under Saturn’ which was met with rave reviews across the board.  Django Django currently stand as the most played artist on BBC 6 Music this year, and the band can also count Michael Fassbender and Louis Theroux as big fans.

Over the last year, Django Django have embraced creative opportunities – drummer/producer Dave Maclean travelled to Mali with Damon Albarn’s Africa Express, and Dave and synth player Tommy Grace worked on the score for the Royal Shakespeare Company’s production of John Webster’s bloodthirsty Jacobean tragedy The White Devil.

More recently the band created a song for the film Slow West which has been met with rave reviews and won the Grand Jury Prize at the Sundance Film Festival. The film was written and directed by Dave’s brother John Maclean.

Earlier in the year, Django Django unveiled a brand new video for Pause Repeat’. Another magnificent song with an abundant melody – the video has been created by Django Django bassist Jimmy Nixon and US illustrator and film-maker Dan Brereton (Superman/Batman). The aesthetic puts together home videos on a mobile phone using a 24-hour cycle and stop frame animation and the result is flawless. Watch it here.

Previously in 2015 Django Django released four songs; ‘First Light’, the first from their new album ‘Born Under Saturn’, ‘Beginning To Fade’ released on Record Store Day, ‘Reflections’, a huge floor-filler that swirls with sophistication, and the epic garage pop of ‘Shake and Tremble’.

Don’t miss Django Django on tour in the UK this December.
