DAVID BOWIE PREMIERES NEW SINGLE 'SUE (OR IN A SEASON OF CRIME)' LISTEN HERE:

David Bowie returns with the premiere of his brand new single, “Sue (Or In A Season Of Crime)”. Marking Bowie’s first piece of new material since last year’s LP, The Next Day, it was recorded specifically for his forthcoming career-spanning compilation, Nothing Has Changed, alongside producer and longtime collaborator Tony Visconti.

Spanning over seven minutes it length, “Sue” was recorded in New York this past summer with the Maria Schneider Orchestra. As The Independent notes, it’s one of the first time in Bowie’s career that he’s dabbled in the jazz genre.

The song premiered this morning on BBC Radio 6. Listen to a radio rip below (disregard the title of the YouTube video). Thanks to consequence Of Sound

The compilation, as well as the “Sue” limited edition 10″ and digital download, will be released in the UK via Parlophone on November 17. In the U.S., the comp and the digital version of the single will be released November 18 via Columbia/Legacy; the limited edition 10″ arrives November 28, just in time for Record Store Day’s Black Friday. Check out the tracklists for Nothing Has Changed here.
The different editions of the comp come with covers that are three variants on the same theme: Bowie looking into a mirror.

Also, all three tracklists follow a different order—the 3xCD edition in reverse chronological order, the 2xCD edition in chronological order, and the double LP jumps around a bit. Designer Jonathan Barnbrook explains in a statement:

“A different image appears on each use. The linking theme is Bowie looking in the mirror. Something which was a strong enough ‘archetype’ to provide an immediately identifiable visual link but make it clear this was a collection of songs through the experience of one person’s life, not necessarily a specific concept or period of time as albums tend to be.”
