DANIEL MERRIWEATHER releases the incredible video for brand new track ‘RAIN’

Today, critically acclaimed artist DANIEL MERRIWEATHER releases the incredible video for brand new track ‘RAIN’. The track is now available across all DSPs here. A rescheduled live date has also been announced at London’s Omeara for Tuesday 6th October, original tickets still valid.

After the release of initial track ‘Paradise’ (produced by Kwes) in February, ‘Rain’ was self-produced by Daniel and features additional production and arrangement from award-winning jazz pianist and producer Barney McAll, diving even further into Daniel’s love for a soulful sound and channelling a gospel-like melody to bring in even more heart to the piece. The accompanying video, featuring the incredible dance and choreography of Theophillus ‘Godson’ Oloyade was directed by Angelo Dominic Sesto (Diplo, Octavian) and George Roberts Bascombe and premiered via Billboard.

On the thinking behind the track, Daniel explains; “‘Rain’ is about a restart, it’s about new beginnings. It’s about the collapse of broken systems and the celebration of a new chapter.”

Alongside releasing his platinum-selling, critically acclaimed debut album ‘Love & War’, which reached number 2 in the UK Charts, Daniel is a busy collaborator and has worked with some of the biggest names in pop. Initially working with Mark Ronson on his reworks album ‘Version’, appearing on a cover of The Smiths classic ‘Stop Me’, Daniel recently worked with Ronson and producer Diplo on their Silk City project, appeared on the track ‘Only Can Get Better’. He performed at the Brits in 2009 with Ronson, Amy Winehouse and Adele; with Adele also featuring on his debut album on the track ‘Water and a Flame’ alongside Wale who featured on the UK Top 5 single ‘Change’.
