Conchúr White announces new EP 'Dreamers' & shares new single 'Go Easy'

Northern Irish artist Conchúr White has announced the release of his second EP ‘Dreamers’, and is today sharing one of the tracks “Go Easy”. The new single and EP follow hot on the heels of Conchúr White’s 2020 debut EP ‘Bikini Crops’.

Hailing from County Armagh in Northern Ireland, Conchúr (pronounced Conor) White achieved notable success in Ireland with his previous band Silences, who split in 2019. Upon parting ways, Conchúr felt an outpouring of creativity and began working on solo material. Debut ‘Bikini Crops’ EP was the initial result of those writing sessions, with the upcoming EP ‘Dreamers’ set to shed further light on that period of his life.

Conchúr worked on the new EP tracks in local co Armagh studios Big Space & Take 6 and with various producers including Kevin McMahon (Frightened Rabbit, Real Estate) and Simon Dine (Paul Weller). The EP was mixed by Matt Wiggins (London Grammar, Glass Animals, The Horrors). Lyrical influences include the likes of Father John Misty, Lana Del Rey, Alex Turner, and Charles Bukowski, there’s a dream-like surrealism in White’s musical storytelling which he delivers with an understated theatrical manner.

“The essence of Go Easy, says Conchúr, is about a strained relationship after a shared family loss. I think that we often look for something or someone to blame for loss. Relationships with friends, family, partners can be difficult because they remind you of the person who is gone. This song is about being kind to yourself and the other person involved. The world is always trying to point to the finger but I’ve always found conversation to be more valuable that confrontation.”
