CITY AND COLOUR - announces new single 'Wasted Love' - Watch video

City and Colour unveil their video for ‘Wasted Love’. Of the video, which was created by acclaimed music video director, Director X (Drake, Nelly, Usher), “On the album, he wandered into new sonic terrain, lining his tracks with R&B-tinged grooves and hints of psychedelia. A prime example of this genre-blending and bending is the bluesy ‘Wasted Love’.”

The video cuts between Green performing to camera and an audience, in a scuzzy underground rock club with his studio and touring band, Jack Lawrence (The Raconteurs, Dead Weather) on bass, Dante Schwebel (Spanish Gold, Dan Auerbach) on guitar, Doug MacGregor (Constantines) on drums and Matt Kelly on pedal steel guitar and keys. It can be seen HERE.

The track, which takes a dash of blues-rock inspiration, is from the brand new album, ‘If I Should Go Before You’, which recently debuted at #16 on the Billboard 200 Chart, #3 on the Vinyl Albums Chart and #4 on the Independent Albums Chart. The album also debuted at #1 in Canada (the band’s third consecutive chart-topper), #5 in Australia and #47 in the UK.

In addition to widespread commercial success, ‘If I Should Go Before You’ continues to receive notable critical acclaim, racking up a whole stack of 4/5 album reviews. Team Rock calls the album a “triumph”, while Noisey describes Dallas Green’s vocals as sounding “better than ever”. The Telegraph reflect “With its chugging ballads, aching confessionals, southern-swept soul and moody, punk-rock distortion,’ If I Should Go Before You’ is an indication of the person that Green has become since he began recording as City and Colour in 2005”. Additionally, Stereoboard say of the the album, “It’s an accomplished and heartfelt record worthy of your time and consideration.”

Recorded at Nashville, Tennessee’s Blackbird Studios, ‘If I Should Go Before You’ is Green’s fifth release, and was self-produced with additional production and engineering by Karl “Horse” Bareham.
