CHARLOTTE GAINSBOURG today releases her new single 'Bombs Away' - Listen Now

Charlotte Gainsbourg through Because Music has today released her new single ‘Bombs Away’. Written by Gainsbourg and Sebastian, the song is taken from her recent ‘Take 2’ EP. Gainsbourg, who played a sold-out show at London’s Koko in December, has been confirmed as a headliner at the forthcoming BBC Radio 6Music Festival.

Charlotte will close the festival at Mountford Hall in Liverpool on Sunday 31st March before heading to the States in April where she will play at Coachella on 12th and 19th April. Prior to her Mountford Hall performance, Charlotte will be interviewed during the day by Amy Lamé for 6Music at Liverpool’s Camp and Furnace (3.20pm start).

Tickets for the festival, which takes place at various venues across Liverpool from Friday 29th – Sunday 31st March, go on sale at 10.00am on Thursday 28th February (full details can be found at https://www.bbc.co.uk/events/e92mzc).

The festival, including Charlotte’s performance, will be broadcast live on 6 Music and BBC Sounds throughout the weekend, with all the performances from Mountford Hall and Eventim Olympia available to watch live and in full at BBC iPlayer. BBC Red Button will be available all weekend and BBC Four will broadcast a ‘Best of 6 Music Festival’ show on Sunday 31st March.

Listen to ‘Bombs Away’ – BELOW:

Produced by SebastiAn (Frank Ocean, Kavinsky) and mixed by Tom Elmhirst (Adele, Lorde, David Bowie), Gainsbourg’s last album ‘Rest’ was her fourth studio album and her first in seven years. The album featured in Pitchfork’s Best New Music poll and was described as “gorgeous and assured” by NPR, while New York Times observed, “Rest is an album that comes directly from her heart.” The eleven songs on ‘Rest’ are nothing if not sure-footed, proffering a compelling fusion of gleaming, string-emblazoned modern electro-pop and cinematically textured avant -chanson—their magical music box melodies kissed by bruised, introspective, occasionally disquieting lyrics.
